Student Printing (Papercut) - Scheduled Maintenance Nov 5, 2026 05:00-06:00 EST

ITS will be performing an unscheduled update to the PaperCut printing solution, utilized by the large Ricoh MF devices around campus on Thursday, Nov. 5 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. This will only affect the STUDENT printing environment. The maintenance is looking to resolve a lingering issue around where random students would release a print job, be charged, but not get their print job. During the update, PaperCut will not be available. Copy, Scan and Print functionality on all Ricoh MF devices will be unavailable. Any print jobs sent after 5:00 p.m. will not be processed or be available for release at a printer. Scheduled - ITS will be performing emergency maintenance to the campus network authentication servers (Clearpass) on Mon., Nov. 2 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The team will be patching Clearpass due to a vulnerability and registering new devices during this window will not work. This is the beginning of the new AI scanning that is going to present major vulnerabilities in unexpected places that require fast patching. This system is critical to the institutions network functionality so we are taking the recommended steps to address the issue as soon as possible. This is in response to a high priority security bulletin released by the vendor on 10/22/26. We will be upgrading the wireless controllers, remote RAP devices and all of the wireless access points on campus. There will be a staggered, rolling reboot of all of the wireless access points, with little or no impact on wireless connectivity or the end user experience. While this update is expected to be seamless, and transparent from the user perspective, it is possible some people may be prompted to accept the new certificate after this change when connecting to wireless for the first time. It should not cause anything outside of that initial pop up on some users machines.
