As we have done in the past, the Network Operations team will be performing software upgrades to the network equipment in all campus buildings during the electrical shutdown weekend. These upgrades are needed to address some stability and security issues in the software currently installed. The impact of this work will be a ten- to fifteen-minute loss of all network connectivity in each building as the new software loads. The majority of this work will be performed in a rolling fashion between 8AM and 12AM on Saturday, but there could be other brief outages throughout the weekend to address any problems we encounter. Please note that in buildings that will be without power that also have no backup generator, the network will eventually shut down once our backup battery systems are exhausted. Network service in those buildings should return once power is restored.

ITS will be applying updates to the campus-wide printing technology (Papercut) on Tuesday, Aug. 9 from 6:00 p.m.- 10:00 p.m. The team will be applying the annual upgrade of the Papercut application on all Ricoh Multifunction devices. During the upgrade, Papercut will not be available. Copy, Scan and Print functionality on all Ricoh MF devices will be unavailable. Any print jobs sent after 6:00 p.m. will not be processed or be available for release at a printer. If you have any issues with printing after the scheduled maintenance, please contact the Technology Help Desk (help@brandeis.edu or 781-736-4357).
